The chain is celebrating National Flip Flop Day and the first day of summer by giving a free Jetty Punch (strawberry-banana) smoothie to the first 500 customers who walk into the store wearing flip flops.
Note: This is the first annual event, so there’s no telling how long the line will be. If time is an issue for you, try calling the cafes before they open to see how long the line is.

I’ll be heading down to UCI on Saturday to see Lyrics Born perform for free. My boyfriend is a huge fan of Latyrx. When we started dating, the first present he gave me was Latyrx’s The Album. (I think it was a bit self-interested since his cd was getting scratched and he wanted to have backup close by!) In addition to being one-half of Latyrix, Lyrics Born is part of the Solesides/Quannum collective, which he formed with other mega-talents DJ Shadow and Blackalicious when they were students at UC Davis.
Lyrics Born performs at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Aldrich Park, which is a circular park in the middle of UCI. Parking will be free all day. BTW, Lyrics Born will also be at Coachella next weekend.
